The Washington Mystics fell to the Golden State Valkyries, 62-49, on Monday night at CareFirst Arena.

Washington battled defensively throughout the contest, holding Golden State to its lowest scoring output of the season while out-rebounding the Valkyries 41-30. The Mystics have now out-rebounded their opponent in 18 games this season, the most in the WNBA.

Shakira Austin recorded her seventh double-double of the year with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks. The performance also moved Austin into 10th place on the Mystics' all-time rebounding list.

Kiki Iriafen led Washington with 12 points and added nine rebounds, extending her streak to seven consecutive games with at least 10 points and five rebounds.

Off the bench, Lauren Betts contributed seven points, five rebounds, and a block, continuing to provide a spark for the Mystics' second unit.
