Game Recap: Mystics Fall to Valkyries

The Washington Mystics fell on the road to the Golden State Valkyries, 99–62, on Saturday night.
Sonia Citron finished with 11 points, three assists, two rebounds, and one steal, reaching the 600-point mark for the season.
She became just the fifth player in franchise history to score 600+ points in a single year and is now just 29 points away from breaking the Mystics’ single-season scoring record.
Her performance extended her streak of 17 consecutive games with double-digit points, the longest in franchise history and the longest active streak by a rookie across the WNBA.
Citron also logged her 35th game this season with 10+ points, tying Caitlin Clark for the most such games by a rookie in their debut campaign. From beyond the arc, she added her 72nd three-pointer of the year, tying Julie Vanloo for the most made threes by a Mystics rookie.
Sug Sutton paced Washington with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, marking her 13th game this season in double figures.
Lucy Olsen added a spark off the bench with 13 points, two rebounds, and two steals, while Jade Melbourne led the team with four assists, her 22nd game of the year with at least three dimes.
Shakira Austin contributed across the box score with six points, two rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal, extending her streak to five straight games with at least one block.
As a team, Washington tallied 21 assists on 23 made field goals, marking the 19th time this season they have recorded 20+ assists.
Defensively, the Mystics limited Golden State to just one offensive rebound, tying a season best.
