Game Recap: Mystics at Tempo

The Washington Mystics erased an 11-point deficit to defeat the Toronto Tempo, 79-62, on Tuesday night, completing the season sweep in Toronto with another resilient team performance. After a slow start, Washington flipped the game behind its defense and dominance in the paint, outscoring the Tempo 52-24 inside while holding Toronto to just 62 points. This is the second time this season the Mystics have held the Tempo to their lowest scoring output of the year.
Kiki Iriafen led all players with 25 points and 14 rebounds, recording her 10th double-double of the season. She continued her outstanding campaign with her third career 25-point, 10-rebound performance, all of which have come this year.
Shakira Austin added another double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, becoming the first Mystics player since 2024 to post at least 15 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks in a game. Austin also moved into seventh place on the franchise's all-time blocks list. Michaela Onyenwere rounded out the balanced attack with 15 points, five rebounds, and three assists, giving Washington three players with at least 15 points and five rebounds.
The Mystics controlled the glass from start to finish, out-rebounding Toronto 47-26, including 18 offensive rebounds that helped create extra possessions throughout the night. The victory marks Washington's fourth double-digit comeback win of the season.
