The Washington Mystics took care of business in Phoenix this week, earning back-to-back wins over the Mercury and completing a 3-0 season sweep—their first series sweep over Phoenix since 2010.

Tuesday: Balanced Attack Powers Win

Washington opened the two-game set with its 23rd victory of the season, the second-highest single-season win total in franchise history behind only the 2019 WNBA Championship team. Five Mystics scored in double figures, led by Sonia Citron’s 19 points and career-high nine assists. Kiki Iriafen added 18 points and 10 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season, while Shakira Austin finished with 16 points, six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Michaela Onyenwere and Lauren Betts each added 10 points as Washington shot 51.5% from the floor and continued its season-long dominance on the glass.

Thursday: Amoore Leads Fourth-Quarter Comeback

Two nights later, the Mystics did it again-this time rallying from a four-point fourth-quarter deficit to secure their 10th successful fourth-quarter comeback of the season and complete the sweep. Georgia Amoore delivered the best scoring performance of her young career, leading Washington with a career-high 25 points, including six three-pointers, to go along with four assists and two steals.

Iriafen stayed on a roll with 20 points and 12 rebounds, extending her career-best double-double streak to five consecutive games. Austin added 11 points and seven rebounds, pushing her franchise-record streak of at least 10 points and five rebounds to 21 straight games, while Betnijah Laney-Hamilton set a season high with seven assists.

Washington also won the rebounding battle for the 36th time this season, extending its WNBA single-season record. Two games. Two wins. A season sweep in Phoenix.
