Game Recap: Mystics vs Tempo












The Washington Mystics took care of business at home, defeating the Toronto Tempo to complete a 4-0 sweep of the inaugural season series and extend their winning streak at CareFirst Arena to eight straight games. Washington set the tone defensively, holding Toronto to just nine points in the second quarter, the lowest-scoring quarter in Tempo history. The Mystics also continued to own the glass, out-rebounding Toronto 43-27 for their 32nd game winning the rebounding battle this season.
Kiki Iriafen led the way with 21 points and 13 rebounds, recording her 15th double-double of the season while shooting an efficient 8-of-12 from the floor. Shakira Austin added 11 points and 10 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the year and 30th of her career. Austin and Iriafen have now recorded double-doubles in the same game six times this season, tied for the second-most by a pair of teammates in WNBA history.
Sonia Citron contributed 14 points, five rebounds, and a game-high six assists, while Michaela Onyenwere added 14 points and knocked down four three-pointers. Georgia Amoore connected on three shots from deep as Washington continued to get contributions throughout the lineup. With the win, the Mystics improve to 13-6 at CareFirst Arena and tie the second-longest single-season home winning streak in franchise history.
