The Washington Mystics dropped an 80-69 contest to the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night.

Sonia Citron led the way for Washington with 19 points, three assists, and another entry into the record books. With a third-quarter three-pointer, Citron passed Chamique Holdsclaw (1999) for the most points by a rookie in Mystics history, moving into 20th place all-time among WNBA rookies. She has now scored 10+ points in 12 straight games and has made three or more threes in three consecutive outings.

Shakira Austin added 12 points and seven rebounds, surpassing 1,000 career points in the second quarter to become the 24th player in franchise history to reach the milestone. Austin also extended her streak of double-digit scoring games to three.

Kiki Iriafen posted nine points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. Her 12 boards marked her fifth straight game with 10+ rebounds, the longest streak ever by a Mystics rookie and just the seventh such streak by a rookie in WNBA history.

Sug Sutton paced the offense with seven assists, matching her season-high for the third time in four games. Jade Melbourne chipped in 11 points, four assists, and three rebounds in her 100th career game, while Emily Engstler continued her defensive impact with three steals and a block. Engstler has now recorded a steal and a block in five straight games off the bench, the third-longest streak by a reserve in WNBA history.

As a team, Washington tallied 21 assists, marking its sixth consecutive game with 20+ dimes, tied for the third-longest streak in franchise history. The Mystics out-assisted Connecticut 21-16 and held the Sun to just three made three-pointers, matching a season-low for threes allowed.
