MYSTICS GUARD LINDSEY HARDING

On winning a close game:

"The one thing I'm really proud of with this win is that the majority of the games that were really close, we have not come out on top. To be able to win a close game against a team like that is really good. We were attacking the basket in transition and scoring in the lane, getting fouled, and I think that's what helped us."

On Point

First-year Mystic Lindsey Harding has provided the team with a steady option at point guard. Harding is averaging a team-high 35.7 minutes per contest, the highest average in the WNBA. In their June 27th loss to the Chicago Sky, Harding played all but ten seconds of the game. Harding is also second in the WNBA in assists per game (5.4). Harding dished out a season high of nine assists in the Mystics first home loss against the Mercury on June 25th.

Sixth Woman

Reserve forward Crystal Langhorne leads the team in rebounding at 8.2 per contest, the third highest average in the WNBA. Langhorne leads the WNBA in offensive rebounds pulling down 3.4 per game. She is also averaging 27.2 minutes per game and 11.5 points per game from off the bench, ranking third on her team in scoring.

Player of the Week

Mystics guard Alana Beard earned her second Player of the Week for the 2009 season. She averaged 20.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game.
