Game Recap: Playoffs Game Two
The Washington Mystics’ 2026 season came to a close Wednesday night, falling to the Atlanta Dream in Game 2 of the opening round of the WNBA Playoffs and ending the series 2-0. Washington continued to battle on the glass until the final buzzer, out-rebounding Atlanta 42-27. The Mystics finished both games of the series with at least a 15-rebound advantage—the only two such playoff performances in franchise history.
Sonia Citron closed her second season with another standout postseason performance, leading all scorers with 25 points and seven rebounds. After also scoring 25 points in Game 1, Citron became just the second player in WNBA history to score at least 25 points in each of her first two career playoff games.
Kiki Iriafen finished with 15 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, recording her second double-double in as many postseason appearances. Her 16 rebounds tied the second-highest total in Mystics playoff history, while her 30 rebounds across the two-game series were the second-most ever by a WNBA player in her first two playoff games.
Cassandre Prosper provided a spark with 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists, becoming the youngest player in Mystics history to score in double figures in a playoff game.
The postseason run may have been short, but it followed a regular season that set a new standard in Washington. The Mystics finished with a franchise-record 28 wins, returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2023, and became the youngest playoff team in WNBA history.
