The Washington Mystics closed out the first half of the season on Wednesday night, storming back in the fourth quarter to defeat the Las Vegas Aces, 100-99, at CareFirst Arena. Trailing by seven entering the final frame, Washington mounted another signature comeback behind balanced scoring, relentless rebounding, and a clutch finish from Shakira Austin, whose game-winning put-back with seconds remaining sealed the victory.

Austin led the Mystics with 25 points and six rebounds, continuing the best stretch of her season. The center has now recorded six consecutive games with at least 15 points and five rebounds, the longest such streak of her career.

Sonia Citron added 20 points and matched a career high with eight assists, while Kiki Iriafen notched her 12th double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Iriafen's 28 career double-doubles now rank third in Mystics franchise history. The Mystics' depth was on full display, with Lauren Betts scoring 13 points off the bench and Georgia Amoore and Michaela Onyenwere each finishing with 10 points as six Washington players scored in double figures, tying a franchise record.

Washington also controlled the paint, out-rebounded Las Vegas 34-24, and shot an efficient 53.8% from three-point range, continuing a season-long trend of winning the battle on the glass and playing connected basketball.

The Mystics now head into WNBA All-Star Weekend with momentum, as Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen prepare to represent Washington on the league's biggest stage in Chicago on Saturday night.
