Awarding Our Commissioner's Cup Partner
With our Commissioner’s Cup schedule behind us, on Sunday the Mystics officially donated their earnings to MedStar Health’s D.C. Safe Babies Safe Moms initiative. All season long, WNBA teams have been partnered with health organizations of their choice in order to raise money through Commissioner’s Cup games played and won. The Washington Mystics aligned with D.C. Safe Babies Safe Moms to support the efforts of maternity and newborn baby care. MedStar Health’s D.C. Safe Babies Safe Moms helps moms and their families all around the region get access to better care and access to important resources.
In total, the team raised $12,500 in Commissioner’s Cup earnings. At Sunday’s game, the Mystics presented a check to representatives from the organization and recognized them as Game Changers.
D.C. Safe Babies and Safe Moms uses the expertise of health care professionals at MedStar Health and proven community-centric support services to provide the best care possible for moms and their babies.
