What is Puppy Yoga? 

Puppy Yoga is a beginner-friendly yoga experience where adoptable puppies, brought to you by Brandywine Valley SPCA, join you on the mat throughout the class. Guests will enjoy a light, flow-style yoga session with puppies integrated into the full experience, followed by dedicated time after class to connect, cuddle, and play with the puppies. This event is open to Mystics fans and will also be joined by Mystics legend and WNBA Champion Elena Delle Donne. 

Do I need to be experienced at yoga to join? 

Not at all! This class is designed for all levels. Movements will be mostly seated, kneeling, and low-impact, making it enjoyable for everyone. The class will be led by Demati Yoga, a DC based club focused on wellness through relationships. All participants will be required to complete a waiver prior to participating. 

Is the event suitable for kids? 

This event is geared toward adults ages 18+. 

How long is the event? 

Check-in begins at 10:30 AM, followed by yoga at 11:00 AM. The yoga session lasts 45 minutes, with puppies incorporated throughout the entire class. The experience will be followed by a special community session and brunch bites, with continued opportunities to interact with the puppies. 

Accessibility 

The venue is ADA compliant and features a non-stair entrance. 

What should I bring? 

While there are restroom facilities on site, we recommend you arrive already dressed for yoga.  

Are the puppies adoptable?  

Yes! Brandywine Valley SPCA may share adoption information following the class if you’re interested in learning more about giving a puppy a forever home. 

What do I need to adopt a puppy? 

Guests interested in adoption must present: 

If you’re not able to adopt a puppy at this time, that’s okay. Your participation in Mystics Puppy Yoga event will also help support Brandywine Valley SPCA’s efforts to find homes for local animals. All proceeds from this event benefit Brandywine Valley SPCA. 

What happens if a puppy has an accident? 

Accidents happen! Puppy pads and cleaning supplies will be available, and staff will be on-site to assist as needed. 

What about hygiene & safety? For everyone’s safety: 

Demati Yoga and Brandywine reserve the right to remove any puppy showing signs of stress or fatigue. 

Can I take photos and videos? 

Yes! Guests are welcome to take personal photos and videos on their phones during the event. We ask to please avoid flash photography and please be mindful of other participants and the puppies. The Washington Mystics will also be capturing professional photos and videos throughout the event. 

Can I bring my own dog? 

No. For the safety of all guests and puppies in attendance, personal pets are not permitted at this event. 

Do I need to sign a waiver?  

Yes. Participants will be asked to complete: A yoga participation waiver and an animal interaction waiver. 

What if I have allergies? 

This event involves close interaction with puppies. This event involves live animals. If you have pet allergies, we recommend bringing any personal medication you may need. 

Will refreshments be provided?  

Yes! A brunch bites will be served following the yoga session. 

Is this event rain or shine? 

Yes, this is a rain or shine event and will take place indoors. Registrations are non-refundable, as proceeds directly support Brandywine Valley SPCA.
