Mystics Wine & Basketball
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The WNBA Washington Mystics are proud to announce the return of Wine & Basketball, an annual fundraising event set for Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Harry Benson Gallery in Gallery Place, D.C. This highly anticipated evening will bring together Mystics fans, players, and community leaders to celebrate the sport, enjoy world-class wine, and support The Mystics Fund–which invests in the growth and development of girls' basketball programs throughout the Washington, D.C. region.
About The Mystics Fund
The Mystics Fund focuses on increasing access to the sport of basketball to foster the next generation of athletes. As part of the Monumental Sports Foundation, it is dedicated to using basketball as a tool to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation. Proceeds from Wine & Basketball directly support initiatives such as:
- Equipment donations to ensure young athletes have the tools to succeed
- Community clinics led by Mystics players and coaches
- Court refurbishments to create safe and inspiring spaces to play
An Evening of Wine, Basketball & Giving Back
Wine & Basketball offers an exclusive experience featuring:
- A curated wine tasting and education session from top local and national wineries
- A silent auction featuring Mystics player-autographed memorabilia and unique experiences
- An elegant evening of networking and fan engagement, with light hors d’oeuvres and desserts complementing the wine
The event is held in partnership with the V Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit founded by ESPN and legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano. Since its inception, the V Foundation has granted over $353 million toward groundbreaking cancer research across the country.
