SAY HER NAME
Over the past three weeks, the WNBA has worked with the #SayHerName campaign to spotlight and identify key policy issues affecting Black women and girls and to highlight multiple victims of police violence. The #SayHerName campaign was founded by African American Policy Forum (AAPF) founder, Kimberlé Crenshaw, a UCLA and Columbia Law School professor, and a specialist in civil rights, Black feminist legal theory and race, racism and the law. Crenshaw launched the #SayHerName campaign in December 2014 to bring awareness to the invisible names, stories and faces of Black women and girls who have been victimized by racist police and violence. The campaign also provides support to the victims’ families. To learn more about Kimberlé Crenshaw, AAPF and the #SayHerName campaign, please visit HERE.
