MYSTICS ADVANCE TO THE WNBA FINALS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

The Mystics have advanced to the WNBA Finals for the first time in franchise history by way of an 86-81 victory over the Atlanta Dream, defeating the Dream three games to two in their best-of-five semifinals series. The Mystics have also announced that the team’s WNBA Finals home games will be played at EagleBank Arena on the George Mason University campus due to scheduling conflicts at the Charles E. Smith Center, and ongoing renovations at Capital One Arena. If the Mystics are the higher-seeded team, Game Five, if necessary, would be played at Capital One Arena, as renovations are scheduled to be completed by that time.

EagleBank Arena is a 10,000-seat venue and the home arena for the George Mason University men’s and women’s basketball teams. The arena also serves as host to major concerts, special events and family shows throughout the year. A limited amount of on-site parking will be available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. The Washington Mystics organization will also provide round-trip courtesy shuttle service between the Vienna metro station and EagleBank Arena.

Tickets for Mystics home games one and two of the WNBA Finals will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5, at 10 A.M. Tickets will start at just $20, and can be purchased at WashingtonMystics.com, or by calling Ticketmaster at 1.800.745.3000. Dates and times for WNBA Finals games will be announced as soon as they are available.
