Inside the Numbers: Shatori Walker-Kimbrough's Record-Breaking Season

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After leading the league in numerous categories off the bench, we'll take a look inside a record-setting season from veteran guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.
A former All-Rookie team selection and WNBA champion with the Mystics in 2019, Walker-Kimbrough has grown into a crucial role player here in D.C. In the 2024 season, the Maryland alum averaged a career-high 7.5 points and 1.9 assists per game, along with 1.7 rebounds per contest and her usual defensive prowess. She ranked second in the WNBA in bench points per game amongst players who have played at least 20 games off the bench this season.
In a July game against the two-time defending champion Las Vegas Aces, Walker-Kimbrough had a season-high 19 points - the most points she has mounted in a Mystics jersey. This season she also stuffed the stat sheet against Connecticut, pouring in 16 points, 6 rebounds and a career-high 6 assists for her first 15+ point, 5+ rebound, 5+ assists game.

As the leader of the league's best second unit, Shatori also claimed the most total points off the bench in the WNBA this season with 284. In the final game of the season, she passed former teammate Tianna Hawkins (272, 2019 season) for the franchise record for most bench points in a season–elevating her to third place in the 2024 Sixth Player of the Year voting polls.
Additionally, she ranked first in the league in total steals off the bench this season (40) and tied for second most total assists off the bench (66)."She's, to me, a top player in this league and probably the best player coming off the bench in this league" praised teammate Emily Engstler late this season.
