The Washington Mystics made it three in a row for the first time this season, defeating the Las Vegas Aces 94-83 on Thursday night at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Powered by a deep and balanced offensive attack, along with timely defensive stops, Washington continues to build momentum with another win.

Five different Mystics scored in double figures as the team controlled most of the game. Rookie Lucy Olsen came off the bench firing, scoring eight quick points in the first quarter. Her early energy helped Washington jump out to a 17-9 lead.

Las Vegas answered behind Jackie Young’s hot start, pouring in 13 points in the opening frame. However, Washington responded again, finishing the quarter strong to lead 29-25 after one.

Sonia Citron picked up where Olsen left off, scoring eight points in the second quarter. She connected on a pair of threes to stretch the lead and keep pressure on the Aces’ defense.

Meanwhile, the Mystics’ bench stayed active and productive. Every player who saw the floor in the first half scored. On defense, Washington forced six Vegas turnovers and turned them into 11 points. The Mystics entered halftime with a 53-44 advantage.

Washington came out of the break locked in. A 9-0 run to open the third pushed the lead into double digits. Citron and Sug Sutton combined for 15 points in the period as the Mystics found their rhythm on both ends of the court.

By the end of the quarter, Washington had built a commanding 79-61 lead.

Las Vegas opened the fourth quarter with urgency, stringing together a 9-0 run to close the gap. A Chelsea Gray pull-up jumper cut the deficit to 83-74.

But the Mystics didn’t flinch. Their defense stiffened, and helped maintain control. Washington never allowed the Aces to get any closer.

Citron led the Mystics with 21 points, her second 20-point game in the last three outings. She has now scored in double figures in 15 of her first 16 career games. Citron also extended her streak of games with a steal to eight, the second-longest among WNBA rookies. She knocked down three three-pointers, giving her nine games with multiple threes this season, second among rookies behind Kitija Laksa.

Austin recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and a career-high-tying 13 rebounds. She’s posted 10+ points and 5+ rebounds in four straight games and is averaging 20.3 points during that stretch. Her nine defensive boards were a season high.

Sutton added a season-high 17 points along with five assists. It was her 10th career game, and first this year, with at least 10 points and 5 assists. She has made two or more three-pointers in four of her last five games and has scored in double figures in three straight.

Iriafen stayed consistent with 12 points and nine rebounds. She leads all WNBA rookies in games with at least 10 points and 5 boards (12). She matched season highs in defensive rebounds (6) and free throws made (6).

Lucy Olsen scored a career-high 14 points in a career-high 37 minutes off the bench. She knocked down three triples and played with confidence throughout. Her 14 points tied for the second-most by a Mystics reserve this season.

Washington's three-game road stretch will continue on Saturday night when they visit the Dallas Wings with tip-off at 8 PM ET.
