Engstler Honored with First Mystics Overseas Recognition

JERUSALEM, ISR – The Louisville alumna showcased the best performances of the week, posting back-to-back double-doubles in Hapoel Lev Jerusalem's split contests to attain "Mystics on the Map" Player of the Week honors.

Leading all players, Engstler poured 22 points and collected 21 rebounds to guide her offseason team to a comfortable 84-75 victory over a second-ranked Maccabi Bnot Ashdod team. Her shot-making abilities were evident as she went roughly 67% from the floor and 40% from behind the arc. The Mystics forward also proved to be a force defensively, adding six blocks and swiping three steals.

Earlier in the week, fourth-ranked Lev Jerusalem hosted Engstler's Washington teammate Sug Sutton and Elitzur Ramla in their final game of February. Despite the close battle, Hapoel ultimately fell 105-98 to the third-ranked visiting team. Engstler became the second-leading scorer of the night with an awing 36 points on 68% field goal shooting and 43% three-point shooting. Assembling 16 rebounds to sum up her second double-double of the week, she additionally claimed seven assists, one steal and a block.

Hapoel Lev Jerusalem is back in action this Monday as they commence the final month of overseas play against their sixth-ranked rival Maccabi Haifa.
