SAY HER NAME
On August 13, 2014, Michelle Cusseaux, a 50-year-old mentally ill African American woman from Phoenix, AZ, was shot while police were serving a court-ordered mental-health pickup. According to police reports, Cusseaux wouldn’t open the door and police forced their way inside. Sergeant Percy Dupra shot Cusseaux when she was found with a hammer raised above her head, which police deemed “threatening” and claimed “self-defense.” We will continue to #SayHerName. GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Washington went a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe, joining Atlanta as the only two teams this season to shoot 100% from the line. Last season, the Mystics went perfect from the line six times.
  • The Mystics held the Lynx to four points in the third quarter marking the third time in franchise history the team has held an opponent to four or fewer points (2 vs. Indiana 8/15/2018, 4 vs. Tulsa 7/3/2010) [since the WNBA went to four quarters in 2006].
  • Washington held the Lynx to 20 second-half points, one of two teams this season to hold an opponent to 20 or fewer points in a half (IND scored 20 pts, 2nd half vs. LVA, 8/11/20). The last time the Mystics held an opponent to 20 or fewer points was against the Liberty on 7/9/2015 (19 points).
  • Myisha Hines-Allen, Emma Meesseman and Tianna Hawkins all totaled 10+ points and five or more rebounds, marking the third time this season that Wasington has had at least three players total 10+ points and five-plus rebounds in the same game.
