We are looking back on the 2022 season, remembering moments from our Mystics vet and lock-down defender in this Mystics Season Rewind – Alysha Clark Edition
Clark’s 2022 Season Recap
This season brought a lot of mystery and hope for Alysha Clark. After a lisfranc injury caused her to miss the entire 2021 season, Clark made her long-await Mystics debut in 2022. In that debut against Dallas she scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Only a week later, Clark recorded her first of nine double-digit scoring games of the season, with 11 points against Atlanta. One of those offensive outbursts was her 20 point outing against the #1 seed Las Vegas Aces.

During the 2022 season Clark also averaged the highest free throw percentage of her career at 91.3%. She kept that scoring efficiency going a week later in Connecticut, where she went 5 of 9 from the field and tallying 13 points for the Mystics. That game against the Sun was also where she recorded her 1000th career rebound, eventually ending the season with 1059 career rebounds.

Alysha’s rebounding was just one of the many ways the vet reminded fans of her defensive prowess on the court, ending the season with an average of 3.7 defensive rebounds per game. Between her stellar defensive efforts, and the monumental milestones, including scoring the 2000th point of her career this season, Clark truly made her presence known. Alysha has been a leader on and off the court for the Mystics and she continued that all season long. Clark started every game she played in and averaged 8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the regular season. Clark’s experience really pushed the Mystics over the edge this season, giving that veteran wisdom in critical moments of the season.
Alysha Clark Off-the-Court
The basketball court was not the only place Clark was shining. She continuously graced the arrival tunnel with her stunning game day fits and gave fans a fresh look into a classy and relaxed style. Alysha continuously came to Entertainment & Sports Arena with comfy fits made for a runway. She would often pair her white Adidas Superstars to a look, giving it the comfortable and everyday feel that we have come to know and love. Her efforts away from the building were just as admirable.
Before this season, Alysha went to support and spread awareness for Furlough Cheesecake and Mahogany Books, Black-owned small businesses in the DC area. Alysha’s love for books, her passion for literacy and advocacy for anti-censorship of books is unmatched. During the season, she was also apart of our Mystics Stics’ and Kicks Auction, where a lucky winner won custom shoes inspired and worn by Alysha Clark. The benefits from this auction went to the American Library Association, which supports the canceling of banned books in the education system, and the winner of that auction graciously donated the shoes back to Alysha and Mystics to find a home where they’ll be displayed and bring more awareness to the cause. She is a gracious and courageous player on and off the court, and her fits this season were the perfect cherry on top.
Happy National #BookLoversDay!
