STORYLINES

Second Matchup of Regular Season

The Mystics look to tie up the regular-season series on Thursday night after falling to the Dream 101-78 on Sunday, June 13 in Atlanta. Myisha-Hines Allen, Ariel Atkins, and Tina Charles led the Mystics in scoring, combining for 44 points of the team’s 78. Courtney Williams and Odyssey Sims had standout performances in Sunday’s game, so it’s key for the Mystics to play tough defense and keep the ball out of their hands during Thursday night’s game.

Winning their last two at home, the Mystics look to carry this momentum into the matchup against the Dream and avenge their road loss in Atlanta. Washington hopes to take advantage of the first full-capacity crowd of the season and find victory against the Dream.

Commissioner’s Cup Game

Thursday evening’s game between the Mystics and the Dream is a Commissioner’s Cup game. It is the Mystics’ sixth and the Dream’s seventh Commissioner’s Cup games of the season, and the second of two Commissioner’s Cup games between the two teams. The first annual tournament is in celebration of the WNBA’s 25th season and the winning team will receive $500,000 in prize money. See the league standings here.
