ELENA DELLE DONNE NAMED EASTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR 7/2-7/8

For the third time this season, Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for leading the team to a 2-1 record in games played from July 2 to July 8 against the New York Liberty, Los Angeles Sparks and Seattle Storm. This is the 15th time in her career that Delle Donne has earned a Player of the Week recognition.

For the week, Delle Donne averaged 20 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 2.3 apg. Against the Liberty, Delle Donne led Washington to an 86-67 victory, scoring 21 points, grabbing three rebounds and three blocks. In the matchup against the Sparks, Washington won 83-74 with Delle Donne recording 11 points and seven rebounds. That Mystics win helped make Head Coach Mike Thibault the first in league history to reach 300 wins. Delle Donne closed out the week with a stellar game against the Storm where she led all players with 29 points and seven rebounds.
