MYSTICS SIGN DOMINIQUE CANTY

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Washington Mystics General Manager and Head Coach Trudi Lacey announced today that veteran free agent guard Dominique Canty has signed with the team. Canty has averaged 7.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in a career that spans 13 years and three teams (Detroit Shock, Houston Comets and Chicago Sky).

Canty has made four post season appearances during her career (1999, 2003, 2005, 2006) and has recorded playoff averages of 6.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Prior to joining the WNBA, Canty was a member of the National Womens Basketball League. She has participated in numerous international leagues, playing with teams in Israel, Poland and Turkey. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Canty finished her collegiate career as a two-time All-American.
